This is the first book I have seen from this publisher from sunny Aix-en-Provence and if they’re all like this l want to see many more.
What we have here is an attractive and very useful pictorial guide to Hitler’s panzers from the 35(t) to Tiger II. Just a quick glance confirmed i was hooked but i chose to use the occasional device of leaving it with my son to read first. He was reluctant to give it back.
His impressions match mine. The book is great to look at and it is concise and easy to follow. The archive photos are excellent and the artwork by Mariusz Filipiuk, Przemlyslaw Skulski and Aurélien Ricard is top notch. The book ticks so many boxes for me and I feel sure readers of WHO will love it as much as I do.
I have been known to say I’d have loved books like this when I was a teenager but while this is true do not take the impression this is not a grown up product. Author Laurent Tirone has done a superb job and I definitely want to see more from this WWII Arsenal series from the publisher.
The text is easy to follow and the translation from the original French is good. I note the name of my mate Anthony Sewards in the credits. He is a safe pair of hands and he really knows his armour. This is definitely a book for tank lovers everywhere. It has depth and style. More please.
