Danger Close: The Third Movie in the “Heroes of Valor” Series – Find the Trailer Here

DANGER CLOSE follows Edward R. Murrow Award-winning war reporter Alex Quade and her mission to tell “soldiers’ stories” during a series of unprecedented embeds with U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) at the height of the Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Alex is bound and determined to complete the mission, even when on one airborne assault and ensuing rescue attempt, she nearly loses her life trying to tell the stories of these heroes. During one highly-classified combat mission in Iraq, she would re-embed with a Green Beret A-Team that had just lost their Combat Engineer, Special Forces Staff Sgt. Rob Pirelli, whom she knew from previous operations.

When an injured Alex ends up back in the States to rehab and prepare to redeploy she quickly realizes just how pivotal her redeployment will become. Through a series of compelling events and a fated meeting with Rob Pirelli’s family, her return to Iraq turns into the mission of a lifetime.

Filmmakers’ Statement

DANGER CLOSE – the third film in our newly anointed “Heroes of Valor” collection – follows award-winning female war reporter Alex Quade as she covers U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) and conventional forces during classified combat missions in Afghanistan and Iraq at the height of the wars. Since 2001, Alex has embedded with elite SOF, including the U.S. Army Special Forces or Green Berets, Army Rangers, Navy Seals, and CIA clandestine operatives to tell their stories from the front lines. Danger Close tracks Alex as she lives alongside these highly trained forces on some of the most daring missions ever documented.

We were compelled to make this film for two reasons: first, we had the chance to tell stories of these American Heroes through the eyes of one of the only war reporters ever approved to embed and follow elite Special Forces A-Teams in combat; and, second, the war reporter is a woman Who embedded long-term with these all male, elite teams, as a “one-man-band”: alone, on her own, with no crew or support.

Her small video camera was her only weapon, as she went on dangerous night raids for high-value targets with the A-Teams. People have never before seen what it’s like to be a “Special Operator” during such intense deployments. More importantly, they have never seen what our Special Operators risk to take care of each other. As the directors of the film, our goal is to immerse the audience in this amazing, heartfelt story. We want the audience to see, hear, and feel what these Special Operators go through during some of the most brutal fighting of the war.

It will be an experience they will never forget. And they will be compelled to share it with others. We are very proud of Danger Close. But we are even more proud to be able to tell some of the extraordinary stories of those at the tip of the spear – the United States Special Operations Forces.
