THE PUBLIC EVENT
A full Day of Tiger related family activities…
If you can’t get hold of a Premium Tiger Day ticket, join us for Tiger Day to enjoy a range of family activities, talks, tours and live tank action.
The highlight of the day will be at 1.30pm, when Tiger 131 makes its return into the arena*. The 30 minute display will examine and compare this World War Two beast to its Axis and Allied contemporaries; including Matilda II, Panzer III, T-34 and Sherman. The display will also examine the impact Tiger had on future tank design, with Centurion and Leopard.
Normal admission prices will apply for this event & Annual Pass holders will be admitted free.
Please note that access to the arena will be solely for those with a valid Museum ticket.

PROVISIONAL PREMIUM TICKET PROGRAMME:
8.30 – Breakfast
Tea, Coffee and Bacon Butties on arrival with a welcome and introduction to Tiger Day from the team.
9.00 Up – Close With The Panzers
Divided into smaller groups and guided by our in-house experts, you’ll get closer than ever before to our Tiger, Panzer III, Panzer IV and Panther.
10.45 – Lecture: Saving The Tiger
Museum Curator David Willey, Workshop Manager Mike Hayton and members of the restoration team will explain the reasoning and the methods used to bring the Tiger back, as close as possible, to its original specification. Having undertaken the majority of the restoration work, there is no other group of people in the world with such detailed working knowledge of the Tiger tank.
12.30 – Lunch
Enjoy a hearty buffet with members of the restoration team.
13.30 – Tiger Tank In Action*
The highlight of the day will see Tiger 131 make its return into the arena to take part in a 30 minute display which will examine and compare this World War Two beast to its Axis and Allied contemporaries; including Matilda II, Panzer III, T-34 and Sherman. The display will also examine the impact Tiger had on future tank design, with Centurion and Leopard.
14.35 – Armour Unleashed
Exclusive access to the arena following the tank display to close-view and meet the crews of the participating vehicles.
15.15 – Restoration: Behind the Scenes
Go behind the scenes to visit our restoration workshops. Browse the facilities and examine a range of Tiger conservation artefacts. See the fruits of two related World War Two conservation projects; the Kettenkrad and the L 43 Pak 88 Anti-tank gun.
16.00 – Afternoon Tea
A final opportunity to meet and put your questions to David Willey and Mike Hayton, the authors of Tiger Tank, Owners Workshop Manual, published by Haynes.
*As with all our historic machines, the appearance of the Tiger tank in the display is subject to its mechanical reliability on the day.
