One of Hollywood’s A-list actor Brad Pitt reportedly splurged £2 million for a WWII Spitfire, thanks to the interest he formed with these vintage babies and the WWII-era in particular through his new movie, the WWII tank drama Fury.
Brad Pitt had been shooting the movie which centers on a Sherman tank division during the D-Day landings in 1944 in Oxfordshire these last few weeks.
According to the report, Brad Pitt bought the iconic British plane used by the Royal Air Force (RAF) during WWII and is set, reportedly, to take flying lessons at Boultbee Flying Academy located just near the Fury’s set in Oxfordshire.
”Brad, who has done everything from sleep in the trenches to learn to drive a tank for the film, has now invested in one of the iconic machines,” a source stated.
However, a spokesperson for the Flying Academy refused to release any statement regarding the reports that the Hollywood actor will soon be taking flying lessons with them.
”We don’t comment on who we teach, but we have high-profile people. Buying Spitfires is very popular with wealthy individuals.”
